From the multiple perspectives of the artists themselves, academic experts in the field of Lusophone music, and promoters of the genre worldwide, LMI’s educational and master class programs will weave a complex, fascinating, and educational narrative about how Lusophone music developed, and its spread throughout the world.

In conjunction with colleges, universities, museums, governments, and other cultural organizations, LMI will sponsor educational master classes on these subjects throughout the United States and North America. When possible, these classes will be presented in conjunction with live performances by contemporary Lusophone artists, or with archival presentations of past artists, composers, songwriters, and musicians.

Consistent with our mission, we will augment these traveling and portable exhibits of Lusophone culture with liner notes that accompany archival recordings preserved by LMI, and web content augmented by Luso fans and experts. In addition to celebrating the achievements of contemporary artists, LMI will present an oft-untold history of how these pioneering ambassadors helped make Lusophone music become important in Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

Together, this multimedia content will share the rich tradition and history of Lusophone music, and the people who brought it beyond the borders of its birthplace, with a broad audience of potential fans, students, and future artists worldwide.
